    Tailored faux leather blazer

My wife told me I should get a leather suit. No doubt this was a reaction to her celeb crush Harry Styles sporting a fancy Gucci leather suit recently whilst performing with Devonté Hynes.

Well, let me tell you, I met Dev back in 2005 when he was a depressed emo playing in the band Test-Icicles, we were friends on Flickr, I looked very Mancunian, and Harry Styles was just 11 years old. But I didn’t own a leather suit.

So, I pointed by browser in the direction of the Zara website and found this tailored faux leather blazer with a lapel collar and long sleeves and these high-waist faux leather trousers with front and back patch pockets.

I usually wear a lot of slim clothes; especially in the trouser department – so was a bit skeptical and anticipating having to return the trousers — but I actually love them. I think the whole fit works really well.

    Playboy

To add a pop of colour, I matched it with the pink swimsuit that I got from Missguided’s Playboy Collection. I can’t admit to ever have read a copy of Playboy Magazine, but when I was a child I had Playboy branded wallpaper in my bedroom. Fun fact.

There’s something about the Playboy bunny icon that I’ve always liked – which was created by American graphic designer Art Paul to be used as an endnote in the second issue of the magazine.

Anyway, I’m happy with my purchases. I’m looking forward to when the pandemic restrictions start to ease off, when bars, pubs, and clubs re-open, and I have a good reason to dress in something other than black skinny jeans and a t-shirt.

    Weekend

Spring has sprung and the coldest days are behind us. At least, I hope so. It was chilly but sunny over the weekend and I relished the chance to get out the house after spending way too much time indoors, due to the combination of being in the middle of a pandemic and having a newborn.

The wife and I stopped by the local hot dog stand and had a walk along the river. It was a nice Saturday stroll. One of the other sausage-customers informed us that it was a national hot dog day in Sweden. Whether there’s any truth in that statement or not remains to be discovered.

The following day, I met up with a friend and colleague and we took a walk around his neighbourhood and the west-side of town. It was a really nice day weather-wise and the first day of the year I used my bike! I don’t have winter tyres, so it spent all winter in the basement and had to wait until all the snow and ice had cleared before seeing the streets again.

We headed down to the waterside, passing by the marina and on towards the peninsula of Bygdøy. It looked a lot like this:

A photo of a marina. Blue skies and blue water.

As an aside; I found some photos on my camera from last week… or the week before… where I wore this outfit. Those shorts from Zara are perfect. I love them.

    Bye.

    New trousers? Check.

I bought these chino trousers from Zara and am loving the way they look with my Dr Marten’s Persephone Boots. Will be wearing this outfit more once the cold winter weather has subsided and spring is in the air.
